This is Handsome Steve. Handsome Steve had a cafe within the confines of the Abbotsford Convent. On this particular day in 2008, the Convent was having an Open Day so to say things were busy is pretty much an understatement! Steve served hundreds of coffees that day and as he was about to make mine, I asked if I could take his picture… as you do! His store looked like it was trapped within a timezone of 1955! Matter of fact, Steve looked like that too!

So as he looked up at me, all flustered and exhausted and leaning on the drink dispenser with his cheek he said…. “so what are you waiting for?”
